2007 WiT Awards - 10 Times a Winner

The 10th WiT Awards on the 15th September sustained its reputation as a friendly, buzzing place to be while providing for an opportunity to “glam” up in your finest threads!

Providing the first real opportunity to fully integrate awards for its ICT and Biotech Chapters, the 3 awards for each industry provided ample opportunity to meet the best and brightest women in both arenas.

Around 250 men and women clapped and cheered the finalists and winners as they were announced, with most of the Award recipients taking the opportunity to make a few, usually humorous, comments on  the challenges of reaching for excellence in today’s highly competitive world.

Barbara Tobin, Chair of the WiT Board, mentioned that over the past 10 years, WiT has awarded over $500,000 of prizes provided by a wide variety of government, industry and university sponsors, making it one of the richest awards for women in Australia.

Congratulations to all Awards winners on your well-deserved titles, and also to our finalists, all of whom were of outstanding caliber, making it a tough job for our judging panel.  Visit our Gallery of Awards Photos (proudly sponsored by Bonbon Photo) and look our for future profiles on our winners and finalists.

Our special thanks to our Awards sponsors: Optus, Fisher Adams Kelly, Accenture, IBM, QCTN and University of Queensland and to our many prize sponsors.  Your participation recognises the aims of WiT to support and encourage women into the dynamic technology industries.  We would also like to thank our Judges for their dedication to their task.
