2010 WiT Awards Conditions of Entry
Eligibility
- Entry is free and open to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria for each category.
Selection Process
- Applications may be submitted for more than one category.
- Entries will be taken to be true and correct WiT will not be held responsible for inaccurate or misleading statements.
- Shortlisted applicants must be available for interview in person or via telephone on Saturday, 14 August 2010. Exceptions will be made in circumstances where a medical certificate is supplied.
- Finalists will be notified prior to, and be required to attend the Awards Gala Dinner in Brisbane on 18 August 2010.
- Judges reserve the right not to select a category winner if the standard of applications is not deemed to meet minimum requirements.
- The decision of the judges is final; no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes
- Prizes are non-transferable.
- Winners agree to arrange take up of in-kind prizes with training organisations or sponsors no later than 31st December 2010. Prizes not taken up prior to this date will reverts to WiT for distribution as deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Award providers will not be liable for any loss or damage (including but not limited to. indirect or consequential loss) suffered or incurred in connection with the supply of any prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. "Award Providers" means WiT and its office bearers and agents, WiT sponsors, the WiT Award management committee and each member of the award judging panels.
- Each award provider makes no representation or warranties and disclaims all liability in respect of the quality, standard or suitability for any purpose of any services program provided by any other participant under the Award program.
Publicity
- Entrants agree to make themselves available as required without cost for publicity purposes prior to and after the Gala Dinner.
- Winners and/or finalists may be asked to assist with the promotion of the program and of WiT throughout the following year.
Privacy
- All information provided in applications remains confidential. In an instance where an individual or team is selected as a category winner all personal details will be treated as private and confidential, however, non-personal details related to the application may by used by WiT in promotion of the scholarship program.
- Title to and all intellectual property rights in project material will be held by the Applicant excluding material the subject of pre-existing intellectual property rights. The Applicant grants and will ensure that relevant third-parties grant to WiT a non-exclusive, non-transferable, irrevocable paid-up licence to use, reproduce and adapt all those intellectual property.
Finalist and Winner Obligations
- If you are selected as a finalist in your category there are a number of tasks you will be expected to complete prior to the Awards Dinner. It is very important that you fulfil these obligations and meet the required deadlines. Not doing so will have a significant impact on planning and delivery of a successful event.
- Finalists are entitled to attend the gala dinner at the student discounted price and 1 additional ticket may be purchased at this discounted price. You will be asked to confirm your attendance by Wednesday, 12 August. Details of accompanying guest must be made by this date. All additional tickets must be booked as per normal booking method.
- Finalists will be asked to arrive at the Gala Dinner at 5.30pm to participate in a briefing and rehearsal of the presentation process.
- All finalists are expected to make themselves available to sponsors and/or media for publicity purposes both prior to and following the awards event.
- Winners are not announced until the Gala Dinner. If you are selected as a winner in your category there are further responsibilities you will need to keep in mind.Winners will be given a minimum of twelve months complimentary membership of WiT. If you are already a member this will be added on to your existing membership expiry date.
- WiT expects winners to maximise their membership by becoming actively involved in the activities of the association. This includes attending events, participating in programs and volunteering or even joining a chapter management committee.
- It is likely that you will be given the opportunity to speak at, at least one event over the next twelve month period.
- Winners will receive a finalist profile form. This form will be used to assist in the preparation of media releases, sponsor publicity statements.
